Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

Consults with internal and external business partners to develop technical solutions to business problems and/or opportunities which are cost effective and value added.
Designs integrated technical solutions for proprietary and purchased software which may include enterprise-level projects.
Develop and implement automated report solutions and other data analysis solutions using the Microsoft BI platform.
Provide or contribute to design approaches that lead to enterprise solutions.
Prepare and review concise technical design documents.
Develop and maintain logical and physical data models based on application requirements.
Tune and optimize the application based on testing analysis and performance requirements.
Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Provide application support and maintenance
Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Ability to comprehend information verbally and in writing.
Ability to communicate information effectively.
Provide information to supervisors and coworkers by telephone, in written form, e-mail or in person.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent field of study or equivalent work experience in related field.
At least 3 years of database development experience with SQL Server.
Strong knowledge of RDBMS’s, especially SQL Server 2000/2005.
Strong knowledge of data warehousing and data presentation techniques, including SQL Server Reporting Services 2005 (Data Driven Subscriptions) and SQL Server Analysis Services 2005
Experience in delivering reporting solutions via Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS).
Experience with SQL, T-SQL and MDX.
Experience in general Business Intelligence methodologies: OLAP, metadata, drill-downs/through, cubes, and ad-hoc reports.
Practical experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and Business Intelligence Development Studio.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines.
Knowledge of SDLC within web application development.
Ability to manage real-time changes in production environments.
Ability to work beyond normal business hours when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
At least 5 years of database development experience with SQL Server.
Experience with Business Intelligence delivery using PerformancePoint.
Experience with one or more of the following RDBMS’s:
- - DB/2 UDB
  - Ingres
  - Oracle
  - Sybase
Experience with Data Transformation Services (DTS) and SSIS.
Knowledge of .NET, RUP, XSL, IIS and JavaScript.
Knowledge of multi-tiered web application development.
Advanced visual basic development experience
