Ohio Information Security Conference
Presentation Proposal Submission Form
Proposals are due by December 31, 2011.
This year’s Ohio Information Security Conference will be the ninth year that Technology First has hosted the event. The conference focuses in three areas/tracks: management, technical, and implementation. The audience will be managers responsible for security policy and administrative decisions and technicians responsible for security implementation and effectiveness.
Technology First is seeking proposals for speaker participation in the March 14, 2012 Ohio Information Security Conference hosted in Dayton, Ohio. A session can be a formal presentation of a successful implementation, administrative solution, or technical solution or a birds of a feather discussion led by a subject matter expert. Topic content must focus on information security and may range from introductory to advanced or from operational to strategic. Each program session will last 50 minutes, including 10 minutes for Q&A.

All proposals will be reviewed by the Security Conference Committee and proposal respondents will be notified of decisions on or after January 15, 2012.

Speaker Expectations
Conference Fees, Travel, and Lodging: Presenters are responsible for securing and paying for travel and lodging. Speakers are encouraged to attend the full conference and registration fees are waived for speakers.
The following are topics have been suggested but other subjects are welcome:
- Technical: Vulnerabilities and Threats
- Company-sponsored but personally-owned devices in the workplace
- Social networking sites – risk to the business such as data leaks, unauthorized access, employee privacy
- Web-based vulnerabilities
- Social engineering
- Data loss prevention
- SCADA saga: industrial manufacturing control systems
- Management: Making the Best Security Decisions
- Implications of the consumer-driven IT
- Compliance, audit issues and response
- Changing security laws – federal and international legislation
- Where to spend with limited financial resources.
- Responding to potential litigation (preservation of evidence, interacting with legal teams)
- Implementation: Technology Solutions and Associated Risk
- Cloud considerations
- Securing the cloud: planning, execution, and continuous monitoring
- Managing and securing high-end mobile devices (iOS, Android)
Presentation Tracks
We are looking to place presentations in tracks related to Technical, Management, and Implementation.
Please note: Technology First reserves the right to decline any presentation proposals at any point in the process. This conference is not the correct forum for discussing unique flaws in specific products nor is it the correct place for a sales presentation.
