Technology First is an industry-led, industry-driven trade association dedicated to increasing technology adoption, developing IT competencies, providing technical leadership, and advocating a strong regional IT agenda for economic growth. We work with local organizations such as the Dayton Development Coalition, area Chambers of Commerce and industry associations to promote IT competencies across the Dayton region.
Our organization, founded in 1997 by local IT and community leaders, is made up of companies representing all facets of IT. Members represent all industries and include small, medium and large companies as well as public, private and non-profit organizations. Our membership includes companies that use IT as well as those that provide IT solutions, products and services. Working committees, led by Board of Trustees with member volunteers, are actively developing programs to serve our region’s needs. Membership is at a company level and includes services such as:
Employment Exchange: Members can post unlimited jobs and search the resume database on our website. The Digital Mixer networking event and McKenna college scholarships can connect you with interns and upcoming graduates.
Training Exchange: The Training Exchange forecasts, aggregates, and delivers just in time business and technical training – locally and with discounted member rates. Curriculum input through participation in the training advisory council or on college advisory groups.
Tech Source: Use of Tech Source as an IT Resource Finder – an anonymous search will retrieve a list of IT suppliers based on products, services, or solutions. Inclusion in the Tech Source online repository and business development referral service that connects IT buyers through in-depth profiles of IT suppliers.
Networking Events: Discounted rates on monthly breakfast or luncheon events. Our events usually are held the second Wednesday of each month and bring together IT professionals and business leaders to learn more about today’s technology topics, issues and implementation in the Dayton region. Seminars bring together IT users, buyers and suppliers around a specific technology or industry topic. Seminars include a breakfast keynote speaker, breakout sessions, vendor exhibits and a luncheon featuring a customer panel to share best practices and lessons learned. The Dayton CIO Council, where by invitation only, corporate, government and university CIOs and CTOs discuss the latest technologies and best practices on a monthly basis. Speaking opportunities and sponsorships to increase awareness of your company.
Communication with the IT Community: Articles can be contributed to Technology First, our monthly magazine, which is distributed to 4,000 professionals. This publication focuses on member company news, IT topics of interest, as well as upcoming training and events. A weekly email that highlights local IT events and news is sent to 3,000 IT professionals and you can include distribution to an unlimited number of your employees.
