We invite you to consider membership and participating in Technology First .  We offer many ways to connect with IT buyers, business partners and employees.  We are an industry trade association and economic development agency supporting the adoption of information technology in the 12-county Dayton region.  

We support the information technology community in the Dayton region through several workforce and business development services:

  • Monthly Events such as lunch and seminars for networking and learning.  Our events cover business and technology topics.
  • The Dayton CIO Council shares best practices on technology topics at a monthly working lunch meeting.

Communication with the IT community though:
  1. Our website www.technologyfirst.org which had over 30,000 unique visitors.
  2. Our monthly magazine, Technology First, which is distributed to 4,000 business and IT professionals.  All articles are submitted by subject matter experts and back issues can be downloaded from our website.
  3. Our weekly email to 3,000 people highlighting upcoming lT events, news, and job postings.


Job Postings in an unlimited number of fulltime, part-time, intern or contractor IT jobs during the course of your membership.  The site is viewed 2,000 times weekly. Members can also view resumes of available professionals.  

The Training Exchange surveys the business community to forecast, aggregate and deliver just-in-time business and technical training.  Many times the retail cost of training is reduced -- plus travel outside the region is no longer required!  Curriculum input through participation in the training advisory council or on college advisory groups.

Tech Source is a business development program featuring a business-to-business referral service to connect IT buyers and IT suppliers in the Dayton region.   Your company can be profiled in the system to show your IT product, service and solution capabilities by key word and drop down box search.  IT buyers anonymously search and retrieve a list of IT suppliers that could meet their need.  

Promotion channels provide members multiple channels to increase awareness about their company and solutions through advertising in our magazine, listing of your company events in our weekly email, exhibit and speaking opportunities at our seminars and sponsorships for monthly events.

Feedback from Dayton IT management and staff on benefits gained from participating in our organization includes:

  • Developing a network of peers to call and discuss common IT issues.
  • Having a source of unbiased supplier referrals from peers and Tech Source staff.
  • Influencing the curriculum of local universities by participating in periodic reviews of the MIS and CS curriculums.
