Tech Source: Bright Street LLC Finds a Local IT Partner through Tech Source

October 2007

Julia Sprauer, President of Bright Street LLC shares her experience using Tech Source to locate an IT partner:

GDITA:  Could you describe your IT need?
Julia:  Bright Street has been using a Microsoft Access macro for time keeping and tracking customer maintenance history.  Technicians can access this program while in the field through our virtual private network, but it is very slow.  We needed a consultant who could create a web-based program that would be easier to use through our air cards.

GDITA:  Did you have specific criteria for in selecting an IT partner?
Julia:   We preferred to use someone local.  We prefer face to face meetings.  But the first criteria was to have a firm with experience with web-based database management.

GDITA:  How did you go about finding an IT partner to meet your need?
Julia:  I read about the Greater Dayton IT Alliance matching program in the Dayton Business Journal.  When I contacted you, you provided an excellent list of potential companies.  We narrowed the list down to local companies for our first set of interviews.  The Ross Group impressed us at the interview and has continued to provide outstanding services.  The Ross Group brings a long resume of database experience that was easily transferable to our needs.

GDITA:   Do you have any comments from your search experience using Tech
Source  that you would share with other companies looking for IT partners?
Julia:  My experience with the Greater Dayton IT Alliance search process was simple.  One simple phone call yielded a list of firms specializing in the type of work my company needed.  Each candidate firm was qualified.  Our selected firm’s performance has exceeded all expectations.  Few things are this simple.

Bright Street, LLC sets the standard for all outside electrical contractors to achieve in the construction and maintenance of traffic signals, street lighting, fiber optic installations, and other outside electrical installations. Outside electrical construction in the public rights of way is a niche business within the electrical contracting industry. It requires specialized knowledge of standards and specifications, national electric codes, government procedures, roadway construction scheduling and large tools and trucks not normally used by inside electrical contractors. Bright Street masters this work with a unique team of electricians, linemen, operators, engineers and technicians. This successful blend of talents results in superior construction practices and electrical installation expertise.

Bright Street is a family of people who still believe in locally owned businesses.  We believe that being local means our business is personal.  Our employees strive to be the best in the technicalities of our business, but they are also coworkers in every city, village, county and township in which they work.  Bright Street provides technical and construction services that are customized to the management direction of local government agencies, while complying with ODOT guidelines.  When a traffic signal is malfunctioning, our customers trust that Bright Street employees will safely keep people and commerce moving through their intersections.
