Standard Register (NYSE:SR), a leading provider of document and print management services, today announced that it ranked 6th on the 2007 InformationWeek 500, which was revealed last night at the awards ceremony during the InformationWeek 500 conference in Tucson, Arizona.
This is Standard Register's first year in the top 10 and it is one of very few companies to appear in the top 100 five years in a row. The company has appeared on the list during the last eight years. It placed first among manufacturing firms this year.
InformationWeek has identified and honored the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual listing for nearly 20 years. The list is unique among corporate rankings because it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
"I am very proud of the employees at SR who created new methods, found unique ways to use technology and executed these innovations to deliver value to our customers," said Joe Morgan, GM On Demand Solutions, vice president and chief technology officer. "The company has been reinventing itself for the 21st century and this recognition as one of the country's top 10 technology innovators is an excellent indicator of our progress."
Standard Register placed in the top 10 this year due to its investments and achievements toward helping customers improve productivity, as well as results that increased the company's own efficiency. In its application for the award, SR also described its unique client reporting tool that is used as a means for improving service and clarifying goals, in addition to reviewing results.
Standard Register also collaborates with leading technology companies such as CSC, HP and Microsoft for products, services and thought leadership.
"Standard Register has a demonstrated track record of success in leveraging technology to drive innovation within its own business and for its clients. Over the past 5 years, the company has transformed into an industry leader delivering trusted document services using technologies like .NET," said Patterson Hicks, Microsoft account executive. "This type of innovation was made possible by an understanding of their customers' business models, as well as a clear vision of how to apply technology to facilitate the transition. Microsoft is proud of its on-going relationship with Standard Register and we look forward to continuing our role as a strategic provider to SR."
