A survey from the Association for Data Center Managers predicts that within the next five years, one out of every four data centers will experience a business disruption serious enough to affect the entire company's ability to continue business-as-usual. The talent pool of qualified senior level technical and management professionals is also predicted to shrink by 45% by the year 2015.
To begin to address these challenges, we are collaborating with data center subject matter experts on a one-day workshop on June 11th which will feature presentations and panel discussions on the latest in data center technologies and examples of best practices. IT professionals with responsibilities for their data storage infrastructure should plan to attend and will take away worksheets that can be applied to their data center.
The seminar will have many presentations that address virtualization and green technologies. Other areas to be covered by the workshop include cooling, power, monitoring, architecture and data center design.
By 2010, nearly 70% of all centers will utilize some form of grid computing or other virtual processing according to the ADCM. If you are new to the data center industry, this workshop will provide valuable content and the occasion to network with your peers. If you are an experienced person, you will walk away with fresh and useful information that will help you improve your data center. We hope to see you there!
