Leadership: The Name Has Changed but the Game is the Same

August 2008

On July 29th, the Greater Dayton IT Alliance Board of Trustees approved the migration to the new name, Technology First.

Actually, we have been migrating to the name over the last several years through our communication vehicles including the organization's monthly magazine, our website, and our weekly e-mail that already bear the new name. One of the reasons for the name change is to allow us to expand beyond the current scope of information technology. New technologies are becoming more important to the region such as visualization, simulation, and sensor-driven data management -- especially through work generated at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

Technology First also allows the opportunity for expansion regionally and throughout the State of Ohio. Some services such as our Training Exchange are already being offered in the Cincinnati and Columbus area through regional partnerships.

Finally, when people think of our organization, we want them to think Technology First!

Please join me to welcome the new members of the Board of Trustees recently added and this year's new officers elected during the quarterly board meeting on Tuesday. New Board members include:
Bill Van Curen, Interim CIO, NCR Corporation
Ken Berta, Vice President, daytaOhio
Mikki Clancy, CIO and Vice President, Premier Health Partners was voted in as board chair. Robert Turner, President, CommSys, will continue to serve as vice chair.

We also wish to thank those Board members the have served us over recent years but are retiring off this year.
Terry Rapoch, daytaOhio
Don Hopkins, NCR
JP Nauseef, Dayton Development Coalition
