Member Mention: Raj Soin College of Business Students Assist Computer Science Corporation with Global Software Pullout

September 2008

Three senior Operations Management majors from Wright State University’s Raj Soin College of Business worked with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) staff to determine the requirements for scheduling the global rollout of the ECSS (Expeditionary Combat Support System) to 100 locations including 297 air force bases starting in 2010 through 2012.

ISOM Corporate Advisory Board member Aaron Sigritz arranged for the outstanding learning opportunity for the Operation Management students for
their capstone project in MS 495.

Chad Wynkoop, Jeff Boeckman, and Jerry Pfister worked with Brian Welch, Curt Driggers and other CSC staff members. The Wright State students were responsible for building a black box tool, CSC Deployment Planning Strategy Tool, assisting in prioritizing and sequencing the deployment of the ECSS application to over 100 locations across the world. They developed the tool using Excel and Visual Basic. After testing and documenting, the project was presented to CSC representatives.
