Sometimes called a cocktail party without the cocktails...the Digital Mixer was initiated to informally introduce current technology students to the local IT industry and potential future employers. Every year for the last 3 years nearly 40 employers and hundreds of students have converged on Wright State’s Student Union to socialize and circulate.
On February17, students from Central State, Sinclair, UD, Clark State, Wright State and many others will participate in this unique student and professional networking event. No resumes are circulated, no company booths are necessary – just conversation about the Dayton IT industry.
The joint resources of the Dayton Chamber of Commerce, Sinclair Community College, and Technology First have combined under the leadership of Wright State University to organize and host this worthwhile program. Employers are being asked to send IT professionals at all levels and from multiple technical specialties to meet and greet students interested in learning more continuing their careers in Dayton and the information technology field. For those employers interested in hiring interns or new grads will be provided a file of interested students’ resumes.
The Digital Mixer in conjunction with the Dayton Chamber’s leadership of the Third Frontier Internship program and the Robert V. McKenna annual scholarship program --sponsored jointly with Technology First -- begin to build a comprehensive approach to retaining outstanding students. Hope to see you there!
