November 2009
At our October 15, 2009 Annual Meeting, Technology First launched its new website, www.technologyfirst.org. The launch completes the transition from Greater Dayton IT Alliance to Technology First.
The new website combines functionality with ease of use to offer our members the latest news, events, and more. We kept all of the useful tools from the former design, and added a few more to make this site as beneficial to the community as possible.
Employers can still post unlimited job openings in our Employment Exchange section, where Technology First maintains a searchable database for prospective employees and their resumes. Those seeking employment can apply for jobs directly through the site and subscribe to special RSS feeds that alert users to new positions as they are posted.
It is now easier than ever to add your community event to our calendar. Once the event is added, users can add it to their calendars with iCal.
Additions to the site include a technology blog with articles written by Technology First staff and our members. Blog articles include the latest news, Technology First updates, information on new technology and more. Check the site often for new blog entries, or subscribe to the RSS feed! If you are a member and are interested in contributing, contact Andy Hickey at

Our monthly magazine is now easier than ever to access. Users who wish to read only certain articles can visit the web page of that article or download the entire magazine. Archives of all articles published in the last three years are available and searchable.
Technology First moved all user accounts to the new site, so those who have previously registered will not need to do so again. Registering for events and networking with other members has never been simpler; just type in your name and email address. Information about the events can be imported into your calendar program with a single click.
In the coming months, Technology First will be completing even more features to the new site, including an updated TechSource application that helps join technology users with providers that are tailored to their individual needs. Other additions in clued a volunteer section and “The Bench,” a current listing of valuable IT professionals available for immediate placement. Check the site often for updates, and follow us on Twitter (@technologyfirst) for late breaking news!
Special thanks to TDH Marketing for design and development of the new website.
