AI & Automation

The convergence of automation with artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) is creating opportunities to increase efficiency and productivity. The ability of machine learning algorithms that find patterns in large data, learn, optimize processes, and hone efficiencies provide new approaches to augmenting automated processes. Though there are differences between automation and artificial intelligence, they can be considered as complementary, each providing capabilities to creating more sophisticated automated process or smarter machines. Both automation and AI are transformative on its own, and will be more powerful together.

Speaker: Rajesh Naik, MinedXAI

Dr. Rajesh Naik currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Mined XAI (Dayton, Ohio), an explainable artificial intelligence start-up focused on creating next-generation machine intelligent solutions. Rajesh has 20+ years of R&D experience within the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and served as the Chief Scientist as the 711 Human Performance and Chief Technology Officer (interim) at AFRL. He has published more than 300 peer-reviewed articles, several book chapters and has 17 awarded patents. Rajesh is a Fellow of the Air Force Research Laboratory, Materials Research Society, Royal Society of Chemistry, and American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. Rajesh obtained his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University in Biological Sciences.
