Analytics Trends from an Academic Perspective

The panel recruited from three local universities (Wright State University, University of Dayton and Sinclair Community College) will discuss the evolving word of data and business analytics from an academic perspective. This panel will review the emerging trends in analytics infrastructure and business analytics tools. The panel discussion will contrast industry level trends versus current academic areas of research in analytics.

Moderator: Don Hopkins, Director and Adjunct Assistant Professor, Wright State University

Panelists: 

Karl Konsdorf is the Director of Research, Analytics and Reporting at Sinclair Community College. He is responsible connecting institutional strategy with data. Aside from leading the Research, Analytics and Reporting department, Karl has been an adjunct professor in the Computer Science and Information department for over 20 years teaching numerous courses in Business Administration, Information Technology, and Data Analytics. 

Dr. Amir Zadeh is an Associate Professor of Management Information Systems in the Raj Soin College of Business at Wright State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Science and Information Systems from Oklahoma State University. His research and teaching interests include data-driven and machine learning decision-making with applications in health, sports, social networks, and cybersecurity among others.

Professor Michael F. Gorman is the Niehaus Chair of Operations and Analytics in the Dept. of MIS, Ops and Analytics at the University of Dayton School of Business. He has spent 20 at University of Dayton, and 10 BNSF Railway. He is the Editor in Chief of the INFORMS Journal on Applied Analytics. Mike has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Economics from Xavier University and a MS in Economics and Ph.D in Business and Economics at Indiana University.
